We spend so much time decluttering our house – but we need to do a digital declutter as well.
I am sure you are like many people – you have too many emails, you have too many photos and need to streamline systems to make it all easier. So, here are some good ideas to start.
Declutter your Email
How many emails do you need? Well, go through your email and simplify it. If you have a few different email accounts – delete what you don’t need and stop the emails from companies you no longer purchase from. Unroll.me if a great way to get rid of mail you no longer want. Take some time to get your email in order.
Declutter Your Contacts
Go into your phone list and get rid of old contacts. I had a contact once of a friend who had moved out of the country several years back – and no longer had the same number. Clean it up. If you have not contacted the person in more than 2 years – get rid of the contact.
Declutter Your Photos
We don’t need photos to take up too much space on our phones. Get those photos in check. I know I take several photos of the same thing. Figure out which you like best and delete the rest – you will not need 50 pictures of the same event.
Likewise, download your phone photos and clean them up on your computer. Make files for your photos and structure them by year if necessary. If you are worried, use drop box or get them out. If you are really ready to prepare your photos – I love Becky Higgins and Project Life or Artifact Uprising to make yearbooks for your family. You can document any way you want – but get those photos out of your phone and computer.
Declutter Your Apps
Go through your apps that you no longer use or are no longer useful. My kids used to put all sorts of games on my phone – and I never played them. So get rid of them. Use what you like. I know several people who organize their apps by color, or use. You do you. But an organized phone seems easier to function.
Declutter Social Media
Go though your facebook and unfriend friends or unfollow people who make you feel less. Go through instagram and unfollow people who no longer serve you. Clean it out and your mind will be cleared as well.
